What I would like to know is why this incident was not reported in the media earlier. If the police were genuinely needing information, surely they would want it as early as possible.

was it a robbery? does anyone know the details?

Last week Monday they arrested someone in connection with the murder and he confessed to it. There was aparantly money promised to him. He later then said that the police beat the confession out of him, and that he is innocent.

Do the police know that the incident took place across the road from a well know prostitution house called Blouberg Babes (corner of Foam Rd and Dolphin Dr #27)?

Considering the amount of illegal activities that take place at this residence during that time of night, I would suspect it to be a good place to start looking.

I am amazed that such activities can be allowed to take place within our residential area and so near to schools without police intervention, I think maybe it’s time for the community to get involved, if we do not act now, it won’t be long before the Blouberg Beach starts looking like Brooklyn streets at night, scary thought! With businesses like these in the area, crime is sure to escalate!

I must say that my logic also led me back to the "Escort Agency" at 27 Dolphin Drive.

The fact that this murder has been kept out of the media is shocking. I have a number of other neighbours in this area who knew nothing of this murder and are totally horrified that this has not been well broadcast. It makes you wonder how many other murders in quiet suburban streets are not reported, although we do get informed about what happens in Du Noon.
I expect that we are going to get a lot of letters from concerned residents,in the Table Talk, once the story unfolds.

I have just moved into the area and was horrified that this murder took place near our street. I suppose I'm glad that it seems a specific crime and not a random event. Does anyone know who this guy is who was arrested|? What's crime generally like around this area?

The worst of all is that this guy is out on bail after confessing, living and working in the area - as if nothing has happened. What stops him from doing it again? And what about the oblivious neighbours? This is just not good enough.

A Murder and a Brothel in our neighborhood!!! Why are activities like this happening in a quiet residential area where you want to feel safe, where we want to feel comfortable with our children growing up in a safe environment? Can you imagine the psychological state of our children and the effect it will have on them if they see illegal activities like this happening in our neighborhood. We can't say that this murder is connected to the brothel, but as neighborhood residents we have to speak up!! Before it is too late. The brothel at 27 Dolphin Drive has been operating for many years and nothing has been done about it. How is that possible?? Keep prostitution away from our family orientated neighborhoods! Brothels in our area have a negative impact on the local community and should not be tolerated. No one can guarantee that more serious events will occur in the near future, but we have to clean up our neighbourhood.

That is a scary reality. What scares me more is why are brothels operating in our neigberhood? Brothels and a Murder creates loss of property values in our neighborhoods! Do we really want to see brothel or free-lance prostitution activities taking place close to our children's schools. Lets face it, no wants to live next door to a brothel and it is this kind of activity that causes negative spillover effects to innocent parties. Close down the brothel at 27 Dolphin Drive and let's start creating a safer neigborhood for our families.

the man whom was arrested for the murder of the man in west beach use to be a very close friend of mine about a year ago . i have not kept in contact with him for almost a year now. i have since moved away from that place. i live see point now , it is over run by drugs , sex traders and alot of people whom dont fear God. i use see him on plenty occasions . i recieved a message texted that he( the alledged) did it on a promise of R100000. first i was shocked by the message , for i had just recieved my new phone and the numbers did not correlate with the names. i had to search the net for more information.
its very sad to hear this. i can only imagine why he did that .Really i can . it still makes it sick and wrong. the murderer has a family and small children . its aweful anyway you look at it. . and to think i knew him very well, we were really good friends.
my hart goes out to the family of the victim. I can also tell you that this was a jelous streak between the gay community. so sad .
i will pray for the hurt. a person would never really say he was capable of such a thing .he was a well respected person and well mannered with good morals. i had warned him plenty of times to get the hell out of there. and a word to his employer. you are a monster person, look what you turned him into. God is going to judge you... you wom say only he can judge you.

WELL WELL WELL ANONYMOUS. Do not despair about the property values in the area..You may be despondent.. But the city of cape town is not..My last valuation was R.650,000. Now they have increased it to R.868,000.. Hooray BUT the last property in my complex sold for R.645,000. In November 2009,.. So look what has happened at the stroke of the greedy pen..
Who represents us and why has there not been an outcry!! Come on local ratepayers..Are you all going to sit back and take it..Somebody young enough and charismatic enough,,must be able to speak and be backed by us all.. Sadcitizen..Sorry about the murders and rapes and robberies but Cape Town has not heard of them ....

So why is the wife not been arrested yet?
